Slowly but surely, Space Commander is coming along well - it feels good to see a project moving forward quickly!
In between adding sections to the game engine i've messed around with a few graphical effects to see what they would look like in game. The screenshot in this Devlog shows the lighting effect i have added when enemy ships hyper-jump into the player's vacinity. Also note the slight lighting used to highlight the player's weapon fire too, as well as an improved engine flame effect. All in all i'm happy.
To the game itself, i have added the enemy attack pattern for the first stage which consists of 2 enemy variants over 7 waves. Where as the original Space Commander 2 had 40 levels (in effect 40 waves), i aim to crush this figure for the remake, as well as include some EPIC boss battles!
