In my life I haven't played much adventure games. In fact, the only one I ever finished WITHOUT ever having to look up a walktrough or guide of some kind is Lost Eden (1995, Cryo).
And that game is probably my biggest inspiration for my new project.
Hanthem.
A fantasy point-and-click adventure game where you travel a magical world (Hanthem) to restore the broken bonds between the different rulers (and races) of different kingdoms, in order to defeat the main enemy; a tyrant leader set out to take over the whole world.
And I need your help.
Just like in any adventure game, you click your way trough screens and solve puzzles.
With ''help'' I actually mean feedback and suggestions. Which brings me to the first point.
I was thinking of using a sketch style, which looks like this:
My prime concern on the moment: Should I go for this sketch style, or use more detailed gfx?
I am an admittedly mediocre artist, and I'm awful at coloring i.m.o. It will probably turn out looking like some cheesy cartoon, and that is not what I want for this game. So unless I can find people that are willing to help, I don't think it's a good idea to color the sketches.
Anyway, back to the game itself. I am going to give all characters voices; I already have my cast of voice actors which will help me out on that. (But when interested: do contact me )
I was thinking of a simple interface; with a cursor that changes as you move it over the screen and will change if you can examine something or pick up an object. So you don't have to choose that yourself like in many point and click games.
Well, Ill keep in touch and will take any comments in serious consideration.

Ok, so here are some pictures with the three different ''old parchment looks'' I liked the most. Use the same picture once so you can see the difference clearer.
