Project Overview  
Preview Basically, the game is based on a generic soldier, namely Soldier #32, in a time when soldiers are not referred to as men, just as numbers... statistics. But there is hope yet, in the hero they have appointed to help your team. He is strong and knows the ways of war… BUT, you are not playing as him.

The idea behind the game is that your aren't playing as the lead character. You are just one of the soldiers going on the mission as well.

I don't know how far the game will actually stray away from that but I wanted to make it interesting.

Oh PS: Most of the sprites for the soldier and the generic enemy were done by my teammate Testament or Medigo (dont know what he goes by around here) But yeah, he helped out a bunch with those!

Hey guys!

Okay, i'm slowly starting to put elements of the first level in whilst working on the engine still so that when you guys test it it's slightly more interesting each time! The level is still really short and not how I want it but at least there is something going on! You now start the level with a beanbag shotgun which only knocks out enemies. Its very buggy as i'm still working on it, but expect another update on the 4th or before with a more polished level

Now, there are some known bugs:

+ You can change weapons during the intro scene,(refrain from doing that, lol)
+ When you shoot the second type of enemy with the beanbag shotgun he dies instead of falling asleep
+ If you accidentally jump off the edge of the level, you fall, and have to restart the game (this of course will be faster and will just restart the level later on) Press F2 and just load it up again, lol

Also, experiment with changing the controls to WASD for movement, I find it to be pretty good. (Control + Y to get to controls, will eventually be in the Options)

Wow, okay, a lot has happened that has really taken me away from the site for longer then I anticipated! I had to sell my old car and get a new one in a very short time span, the new one looks amazing but already has a problem so its not driveable, getting that repaired Wednesday. Also, my computers harddrive decided it had enough of this cruel world and decided to die on me. So, I had to reinstall Windows 7 and recover a lot of files.

Now that the bad is out of the way! I have been working on S#32! The experience point system is working reasonably well and i've added a feature in which if you hold perfect aim for a bit you can outright kill an enemy with one pistol shot. Both features are best seen in action, so here is the latest BETA!

Hold "Down" when using the Pistol to take perfect aim on an enemy. This will be VERY difficult and its probably best you try it on the very first enemy.. (If he is alerted, you will lose your concentration)

Once you get a GREEN reticle, you have locked, but be quick, because it will go away as quickly as it comes. You pretty much have to hit exactly as it goes green.

When you level up (this hasn't been implemented) you will aim faster at each level.

Preview

Alrighty! Well! I have added a menu system now!

Also, the enemies alert each other to the players presence, so that's kinda cool. Its still a little fiddly but I've set up some debug stuff so i can monitor what states the enemies are in closer

Next up! A basic experience system, weapon attachments and an inventory.. (maybe) and an objectives screen (definitely!)

Ah, everyone was saying it. So, i finally went through and added a jump animation "engine" of sorts, now the legs are separate to the body when the player isn't in a walk cycle and jump animations are handled outside of the weapon animation/system. Therefore any weapon i add will automatically have a proper jump/not jump animation

Also, I added a pistol. I dunno why but just having the pistol in the game makes me feel like its more complete! But yes, I will be posting the update soon, it also has a few other fixes as always (like the grenades hitboxes now actually work!) etc etc.

Also, if you shoot an enemy whilst in debug mode ("~" key to activate) you will see how much health he has, his ID number, etc!

Keep comments coming as I do try to take suggestions on board!
