Hasslevania- Episode 2: This Space For Rent is an all-new Del Duio / DXF Games project that continues the story of Rovert Bellhump in an exicting new way. Started in December 2007, the game will be roughly 3 times the size of the original Quest for Shuteye. Expect more weapons and items, tougher bosses, deadlier enemies, and brand-new NPCs.
All clothing and armor show up on Rovert when worn and now influence his jump heights (among other things). Many of the problems of the original Hasslevania platform engine have been fixed or changed for better gameplay. The art style is basically the same in its retro goodness, but the music quality has been greatly improved over the old midi tunes I used to use. The game also has some stat-building to make Rovert a lil' powerhouse to boot.
The project still has a lot of cooking left to do, but it's well underway. Hasslevania 1 GameFAQs members / helpers kevinski and Kaluroth are also helping me with the planning, testing, & feedback which has been a great help in a lot of ways.
I would expect a release date of 2013, with a free demo and the full game for short money (i.e. cheap-ish).
Any questions? E-mail me at dxfgames@gmail.com or visit the kevinski.com website and ask there in our forum. Or ask away right here at The Daily Click project page, duh!
See ya later!

Here's a short video showing the landing and beginning bits to the 3rd and final planet, Propagnus Prime. It's here where you'll get to take on the big bad guy of the whole game, and where another optional boss hides out.
The planet will be devised of 3 large areas, the first (shown here) is completed. Aside from that I've been working on the game's 2nd mini game which you'll acquire later on through killing bosses in general.
Hi again guys, looks like today is "computer day" where I go to the ends of the Earth updating everything under the sun in one fell swoop.
And so this would also warrant some more information on H2's progress. And the progress has been really great, actually. As of this writing, I am smack in the middle of working on the 10th boss fight out of a planned 11. There are 3 major areas on the final planet Propagnus Prime and after this boss one of those will be in the can.
To recap for those interested:
All weapons, armor, and power-ups have been placed.
9 / 11 bosses are complete, with #10 in the works currently.
2 of the 3 planets are complete, with #3 in the works currently.
All of the side areas are complete, which includes The 90 degree castle, The WTF Zone, and the asteroid belts.
There's been some graphical improvements as well which I'm quite happy with.
I am anticipating a release PERHAPS within the next 6-8 months or so. I know this sucks as it's been a work in progress since 2007 but I have to also do a bazillion voiceovers and then get the sucker copywritten which takes a while too.
But it's coming, and hey just to finish this thing is gonna' be great!
Hi guys, sorry for the huge delay for H2 info up here trust me when I say I've had a lot of computer issues and getting to the site.
The very good news is that I've been steadily working on the game the whole while and progress is so good I would almost certainly say it's going to be released in 2013 now that I have my "real" website.
THE DIRTY LOWDOWN:
(AREAS)
Since last time I've completely finished the ice world Hoff and also the big side area the 90 Degree Castle. Then you have several other small areas to visit from the main Galaxy Map screen if you want. And with all the weapons and treasures and stuff who wouldn't want to try and explore everything right?
(ENEMIES)
For fans of the first Hasslevania game you might remember that there's a scene where Dracula and Deaf mention starting construction of the 90 degree castle. Well now you can visit it and fight Deaf again. How did he not blow up in the Hasslevania self-destruct explosion? Nobody knows, not even me!
Deep within Hoff's icy waters you'll also encounter the deadly and gigantic Hoff Sharks. Tough and resistant to ice attacks, they may be able to swallow Rovert whole and instantly kill him regardless of HP. Hey Quint, looks like we're gonna' need a bigger boat!
But hey, you really just want to collect money and jewels right? Well go right ahead.. but be wary of the new Possessed Jewels! These look exactly like regular jewels only when you get too close they fly off in unexpected ways and attack you with deadly force. Whoah!
Also we see the first of the main villian's henchmen starting to appear called the Yankers. They are alien baseball players. And also soldiers! They fly around with jetpacks and hit baseballs out of their hands with their bats towards Rovert at high speeds. But don't just blindly toss projectiles back at them because they might be able to catch said projectiles with their baseball gloves and nullify all damage.
(BOOKS)
As you may already know, the hint books in this game are much more involved than the old game's were. So instead of merely getting a simple phrase upon picking one up you collect them and stow them away in your ship's library. From there, you can open them up and read them for detailed backstory, hints, and even see that some will grant you greater powers of exploration.
(MUSICAL INTRUMENTS)
And for the first time in the Hassleverse (yeah, I guess that's what I'm calling it now haha) there are musical instruments to collect. A drumset here, a bass guitar there, what does it mean? What will they DO? Surely it can't be an impoprtant part of the storyline. But now I've gone and said too much!
(NPCs)
Aside from your ship's core personel like your Ninja shopkeeper and mudpuppy Doctor, there's loads of other NPCs to find and recruit scattered throughout the galaxy. They range from a drunken succubus to an albino ant soldier to an underwater explorer who thinks he's all "washed up". Finding these guys and getting them to live back on your ship may grant you extra tips, mini games, rewards, and extra cutscenes.
(CUTSCENES)
Just like the first game, Hasslevania 2: This Space for Rent features cutscenes that add much to the story. But unlike the first game there are many more of them and many that hinge on what you specifically do while playing. Like to collect cooking ingredients? You might hear some secret recipies from a fellow food fan. Boost your luck stat really high? Hey, you might get lucky. Not like that you perv! Or WILL YOU? Gotta' see for yourself!

More about the game can be read about on my DXF Games website. I've been at this going on 5 years now and happily it looks like the end's in sight!
Very fast update here but I just want to say that my work has started blocking any site that has do anything with games which includes this one
So updates like this will be rarer than Hen's teeth
The Nacho Lab is done and it has not one but two big bosses at the end of it. Since I'm posting this on a phone and I hate non-keyboards for stuff like this I gotta' go!
