Project Overview |
|
This is a project I've been working on on and off for a while now, but seeing as my latest game has a terminally buggered engine, I've come back to work on it again.
Oblivion has no story, plot or characters. Oblivion is a fast, top down shooting game designed mainly for up to four players to cooperate or compete in a variety of game modes, on one computer.
Oblivion currently features NINE game types:
Survival (work cooperatively with the other players to survive as long as you against hordes of zombies)
Deathmatch (the classic)
Team Deathmatch (help your teammate)
Grab the Flag (hold the flag as long as you can)
Cash Match (nick as much money as you can find...be it lying on the ground, or in the hands of your victims)
Hunter Hunted (Only the Hunter can score)
Last Man Standing (everyone starts with ten lives)
scorematch (points for damage rather than kills)
and Football (get the ball into the opponents goal...so what if the goalkeeper's got a Flame thrower?)
Oblivion also has eight instruments of death. Dual Pistols, Pulse gun, Minigun, Grenade Launcher, Rocket Launcher, Flame Thrower, Razor Cannon and Rifle.
Other little bits include the ability to play every single mode on each map, and select special modes, like death-countdown (no hiding in corners then), Instant-kill and Rocket Launchers only.
Other areas which I am less sure about include a mission mode, which for the moment is very buggy, where certain objectives must be completed (such as surviving for a certain amount of time, protecting an object on the map, rescuing hostages before they are killed by monsters, and escaping from mazes). This would constitute Oblivion's single player mode, as missions could be played by only one player, or by multiple players working together.
