This weekend I've been able to complete the editor, given a still less-than-satisfactory amount of time. Here are some screenshots of the freshly coded BlitzMax version. Because of the object oriented programming, progress is quite rapid. A huge new feature is the ability to select the eyes, nose, mouth and facial details independantly from one another (in addition to the 2 layers of mask and facial hair). I also managed to retexture certain parts of the character such as the lower body and head. Although a more complex UV Map is required, the results are very rewarding, with designs that wrap around parts seamlessly. There are more layers to the character than ever with 29 selectable layers and outfits, and 7 selectable items. Tattoos are now also included, Left/Right leg items have been added. I'm really hard pressed to find what more is needed.
Take a look at the screenshots. Although I make no claim to be a great artist, they demonstrate the depth of options within the game's wrestler system.
UPDATE: The new screenshots demonstrate a new feature I've completed - the environment loading system. This system works for loading backstage areas and future arenas. It allows for a multi-textured environment and special entity positioning information. Once the Lua scripting is integrated, custom scripts for environments will be adapted to allow for things such as animations.
This brings me to the scripting for matches. I may be thinking ahead here but I think the environment system would work well for scripting special match types like "Cage Match" and "Ladder Match"
