One of my 5 projects thare are tying me down right now.If you've ever played InfantryZone from Sony's online game station (which I would like to point out that they buy out companies and games faster than microsoft)then you'll know what the game is like...
The game is basically a MMPOG shooter at a 2/3rd ISO angle and you go around shooting and killing other people for points, when you kill people, you get money and with the money you can buy more items such as armor, weapons and ammunition. Then when you logg off, your records and items will be saved on the server for next time when you logg on.
So far I've already gone through a few problems such as:
- Each class' sprite is estimated 3-5 megs (among 12 classes)
- Speed performance for normal and slow computers
Features I have planned:
- Countless weapons as well as energy sources and amunition to power the weapons
- Unique items and armor
- Ability to group into teams of up to 12 and create private teams
- Option to join a users -or make your own- squad/clan
- Game Modes: CTF,FFA and TeamWars
- War Free shop zone
- 8 user classes including: Luminary,PhantomOps,BlackOps,SciOps,SWAT units,Havok Division,CombatOps,Anomaly
- 4 mod classes
BTW: This process of modeling the classes is taking a (tediously) long time, so if anyone else wants to help modeling the guys in 3D or doing object/background (in 3D) then I would more than appreciate the help.
