Project Overview  
During the gigantic waste of time that students like to call "summer", I finally got my act together and started work on a game. It's an old-style platformer in the style of the old Apogee games that I remember so fondly.

In "Crystal Towers" (a working title, improved slightly from "Custom Platform Movement Advanced") you play as Bernard, the nightwatchman at the Column Temple, who wakes up one morning after sleeping on the job to discover that the Life Crystals which were kept there have been stolen. He now has to recover the crystals from around the world before his boss discovers that he's lost them.

The adventure takes place over fourteen game levels, each with their own unique style and enemies, with multiple routes to choose from between them (each route consisting of four normal levels and one longer final level). At present, seven levels have been completely finished.

"Crystal Towers" features graphics and music by David Newton (Wong), and the main character was drawn by Jamie Newton. The platform engine is a custom movement based on the Advanced Movement Object.

The player starts off with only three hit points, but will be able to gather extra ones throughout the game. It's filled with secrets and easter eggs as well as classic gem-collecting action.
