Project Overview |

Here it is. Again.
If you're old-school, you'll remember it, and it's countless iterations. Again.
Now, like 2 years since the last attempt, I have a basic grasp of TGF and its workings! (Dun dun DUNNNNN)
Anyways... I'm mainly posting this to get some feedback on the game idea, and the artwork. I'll post some more after making it, as I am currently working on the engine.
Basically, the game is another platformer/shooter for 2 players. This one will feature a few bells and whistles such as Stealth Mode, where you dodge all projectiles for a few seconds.
There will probably be about 8 to 12 weapons, depending on what ideas I get from my own head, real life, and you guys. The artwork for new weapons is very easy, but the engine is a royal pain.
A few of the current finished (minus bugfixes) weapons are an assault rifle, SMG, Shotgun, and Handgun.
It will differ from most shooters of this type, as weapons have spray, and as well; a random chance of hitting. For example, the Hangun will hit almost every single time it connects with an enemy character, while an AK's bullets will whizz by their heads much more often.
If the initial basic 2 player demo is well recieved, I will produce the main mode, where both players constantly battle each other and enemies for cash(points) in an ever scrolling environment.
Enemies will be a mainstay- you and your rival will never be alone on a level. There will be no reloading of weapons, so you will need to be more careful with your resources, and the only way to get another weapon is to find it, or kill an enemy and take his.
As for controls, I'm not entirely sure about that just yet. I'm not sure whether or not I'll implement an aiming system, as it is a lot of work to do properly, and I'm not sure exactly how to do it. I'd love to know everybody's preferences for aiming systems. (seperately controlled cursor, manually tilt gun up/down etc)
Forgive the JPEG compression on the screenshot. MSpaint is teh suck. Also, that's just some basic character/weapon art to see reactions. I'm not going to go in that direction too much until I get a little feedback.
Thanks for your time.
