Hello everyone, it's been awhile since I've uploaded a project (what, a year and a half?). The last project I uploaded was Spaceman Steve 2. Unfortunately I dont think I will ever make a Spaceman 3 because I can't seem to finish what I start! I always get an idea for SS3 but I cant seem to portray it.
Anyway, moving on. Today I've decided to upload a new platformer I've been working on for a couple of days. I do not know if I will finish it but it is so fun to make I might actually do so. College Kid made a spritesheet for a turnbased game he was making entitled "Armed and Dangerous". I liked these small soldier sprites alot because they were unique (not edited from stupid sonic or megaman) and they peaked my interest. I made plenty of things (with College Kid's permission) with them before I came to this game. Now I want to see what other people think about the game.
Ok now for the description. I was playing Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory in a "trick jump" server which inspired me to make a platformer. I challenged myself to make a game using only parts and pieces from 2 spritesheets or something of my own. I started making it using custom platform movement and it turned out pretty fun. I kept building upon it and then decided to make it a full game. I do not have a story for it neither a title screen. I'm thinking along the lines of "PoW escaping military base." For now I am calling it Laby(short for Labrynth) but the name will change.
You control the character running and jumping on platforms, sliding on ice, ducking under lasers and much more.
As of now there is only a few levels in the game, if the last portal is entered the game will end.
CONTROLS:
Left-Right Arrow Keys = move player left or right
Down Arrow Key = duck
Up Arrow Key = enter portal
Shift Key = jump
CTRL = hold to run (uses stamina bar)
W Key = Respawn
*NOTES*
Watch the stamina at the top left, if it runs empty then only releasing CTRL will let the character move and can only move slowly.
If holding CTRL while in the air and stamina is empty, character will instantly fall.
Try to watch the turrets, when they turn red DUCK and the laser will be avoided.
After running alot rest and wait for the stamina bar to fill up.
Bombs sometimes fall through platforms.
As of now music is a midi and lags when restarts.
