The Daily Click ::. Downloads ::. Review Review: Astro Dude - part 1
"Astro Dude" part 1 by strife is one of the best games of the 2004 gaming season! Astro Dude is a Mega-Man clone...Or at least its supposed to be. In my opinon, its better then Mega Man! For starters, there isn't just one level and then a boss. There's three levels (some that are diffrent then its usall levels) and then you must battle a really hard boss! Kay, here it goes: Presentation: Wonderful. Stunning. Gweat! It has a really cool looking title screen with a well-made menu. It inculdes a 'save' feature. It comes in handy, because this is one hard game! It has a cool intro as well! Graphics: Again, wonderful. I love the backround style...But did I see a gradient in the 1 level of the 3rd world, or was that me? Anyway, the baddies are drawn really well. But the walking animation for Astro Dude could be fixed a bit . I love the little billboards and signs that are in the backround, too. Gameplay: The engine is pretty good. The jumping is almost flawless, but sometimes you can float through the ceiling. Other then that, the engine is cool. The gameplay is basicly like Mega Man, only with some cool twists. You have to get from point A to point B, and then defeat a bunch of bad guys, or, at the 3rd level, beat a (really hard) boss. Along the way, you can collect Energy pills, Luner Cola (if you press up twice when you have Luner Cola, you're health gets restored), capsels (gives you 2 extra health points) and more stuff. There are various cool weapons that you can get too! The bosses are hard as heck, so be ready to pull your hair out! Sound and Music: The sound really makes you feel like your playing a NES game. The music is cool and catchey, that complete the mood of the level. Lastabilty/Overall: This game will last you along time! You can play the levels over and over, and (although you can get ticked off when you die) not get bored. I highly recommend that you get this game! And Strife- Finish the series!
