Upon seeing 'Elf Elfonsinio 2' I was quite excited knowing it would most likely be another quality game by Maciej Lamberski and I wasn't let down! My first impression of Elf Elfonsinio 2 was very positive, the interface is very clean, simple and easy to navigate. This approach is kept throughout the entire game, making it very consistent and approachable. The options menu was a nice addition where you can change the controls (only for keyboard, no controller) and even the translation. When introduced to the first stage, the gameplay is very simple to learn. With only a few things to master, such as the jumping and aiming of acorns. There seems to be always be enough acorns around to be able to spam at enemies till you finally hit them. The game continues to stay fresh for an amount of time however as you progress you will eventually start to feel the game becoming quite repetitive, notably in the recycling of challenges it offers despite them being generally well placed. Lamberski achieved a very strong set of enemies obstacles and obstacles, they're coded and presented well there just isn't enough of them! While each season/world is a refreshing change, they don't occur often enough, you'll find yourself eventually feeling like you will never get to the next stage as you progress through the environments that eventually become quite monotonous. Where this game really holds together is in the graphics and audio department, they complement each other beautifully to create a very vibrant atmosphere. I believe Lamberski has attained a distinctive style really works for him, and he's made the most of it. The individual sound effects fit the objects astonishingly, it makes each jump or acorn throw that much more amusing. Elf Elfonsinio 2 does have generous placements of checkpoints and savepoints, the only problem is that you most likely won't use many of the checkpoints as you may end up losing your lives and having to load each game with 0 lives. A little more kindness in regards to giving away lives may have helped make the game that much more fun. Backed up by solid controls, graphics and sound this game is sure to please if you can get past the fact that this game can be quite repetitious. I'd recommend you play it in chunks of time, rather than one sitting. But overall it is a very charming and wonderful game!
