JUDGING CRITERIA

Try and achieve as high a score as you can in the following criteria. There are guidelines to try and help you along. We will not be judging the games solely on the attributes in the following criteria:

GRAPHICS (/20)
How detailed are the graphics? Are they original (they'd better be!)? Are there lots of effects? If there is parallax scrolling, how well has it been implemented? Do all the graphics match in together? Are they easy on the eye? Does everything blend well together?

GAMEPLAY (/30)
Now, because this is an "anything goes" competition, and you don't actually have to make a game, this criteria can appear to be misleading. Basically, how enjoyable is it? Would we go back to this application time and time again? Is it easy to pick up and understand / play? There's no level limit, but the more there are, the better your chances are of a higher score.

PROGRAMMING (/20)
How well programmed is the application? Are there any bugs or glitches? Is the runtime smooth? Is the engine versatile/flexible? How well organised are the events? Are they commented?

CHRISTMASSINESS (/30)
The word made up by us, aren't we clever? How Christmassy is the product? Does it have that festive feel-good factor? How many references to Christmas are there? Think weather, presents, reindeer, Santa, etc. The more references there are to Christmas, and the way they are implemented will boost this score nicely.

TOTAL (/100)
As you can see we've decided to omit criteria based on storyline. We figured that you would just want to knuckle down with the product and get on with it. Feel free to include a storyline however, but it won't affect the final scores. The highest score wins, obviously.

However, don't dispair if you don't win... we will hand out 50DC Points for all completed entries, to er, boost your status in this prestigious community. We're good like that.

While Clickteam are supplying the main prize, they do not endorse or sponsor this event and thus cannot be held responsible for any mishaps, if any, that may take during this competition. Products that are late for this competition will be null and void. The judges for the competition are Chris Street, David Newton, Knudde (Shab), Andi Smith and Assault Andy. If you enter the competition and finish the product before the deadline, you may release it whereever you wish to, but it will not be accepted at The Daily Click until after ALL the judging has taken place and the results posted on both this mini-site and the main pages of The Daily Click. Neither us or Clickteam will be held accountable in the case of any prize lost in the post. All judging is fair and unbiased. Attempts to bribe the judges will result in a painful slap to the face. Judging will take as long as it takes, and the results will be announced over at TDC as soon as possible.
