CHRIS: This is one of those collect-em-up games that has a tendancy to be addictive. Populated by rather tedious enemies that can be killed, the objective is to collect every single present before finding the exit. The present finder is a very nice touch, I can see the game being almost impossible without it. The graphics are adequate at best, and the main character lacks soul. However he does have a cool ability - to hover for a period of time. There are collectables too, which extend your firepowers range, and all of the 24 levels are presented in the form of an advent calender. The engine is crude. It does its job, it's buggy, but this is one of those rare games where it can almost be overlooked due to the addiction factor. Other stages break up any potential monotony by being of a completely different nature, and the creator has thought of the level design well. One thing I truly, truly hate is the screen shake effect when icicles fall to the ground. Not a bad effort by any means - and at least it's Christmassy, unlike some other efforts ;)

DAVID NEWTON: The "collect the presents and get to the exit" theme is rather overused for Christmas competition entries, but this game manages it well (and having a Present Locator arrow helps). There seems to be a problem with the height that you can fly when not running in fullscreen mode, but I don't think that's really an issue. The graphics are small but well drawn, with many layers of parallax scrolling - these are slightly distracting at first, but get better over time. There are also some attempts at scrolling effects, which might be slightly overdone - I found it very difficult to see what I was doing during the "earthquake" on the second level. Some things could be improved in this game, and it's a fairly simple concept, but it does use the theme well and it's good at what it does.

SHAB: This game is for those of you addicted to crack. If you can't follow fast action platforming games, this isn't the game for you. On a basic level, it's like Zone Runner; except that you have a gun, and everything moves at Mach 2; oh, and you can fly. A fine entry.

ANDI SMITH: This game looked really candylicious. It was nice to play an elf instead of Saint Nick for once (or at least someone without a red hat on). The level design was nothing amazing but it worked well - I wasn't keen on the shaking scrolling when going through a spiked ice chamer though - it was far too erratic. The elf in fly mode did sound a little like someone sucking at a milkshake which was a little interesting..

ASSAULT ANDY: This game had a really christmassy feel, some pretty good graphics except it lacked in fun gameplay. It was often very confusing to know where you were. I think it would have helped alot if the player could see more of the screen (ie a higher screen resolution) instead of holding down the jump button and hoping there was a platform in the direction that he was heading.
