I have started well over 200 games in TGF/MMF/MMF2, and probably many more.

I have finished none

Usually due to bugs caused by MMF itself, but also due to my own laziness. Plus, once you start using an actual programming language, and discover what a function is, MMF becomes more of a chore to use (in my opinion).

Still, I love to use it

Here are a few games I've abandoned, but I thought they were either complete enough, or had useful enough features to give to anybody who wants them.

Most of these had great sound effects and music, but I didn't include the externally stored ones, so as to cut down on the file size.

The first one, "idk" is sort of an 8-bit styled platformer.
Z - Jump
X - Shoot
ARROWS - Move left and right, crouch, climb/drop from ledge
Press DOWN + Z while running to dive/roll.

The next one, "light_test", was more of a test I was doing rather than an actual game. It is also a platformer.
W - Jump
A - Move left
D - Move right
SHIFT - Run
MOUSE - Aim
MOUSE LEFT - Fire
Tap the left and right arrow keys to change weapons.

Third, "pibmml", is yet another platformer, this time experimenting with physics. It's a little glitchy and buggy, but kind of fun. You can grab onto enemies and punch them while holding onto them, which is slightly entertaining.
W - Jump
A - Move left
D - Move right
MOUSE - Aim
MOUSE LEFT - Left weapon
MOUSE RIGHT - Right weapon
Move into an object while holding Mouse Left or Mouse Right to grab that object, and release to throw it.
While holding Mouse Left or Mouse Right, tap 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 to change the respective arm into another weapon.

Fourth, "sam" is probably the coolest of the bunch. And guess what, it's a platformer. Very similar to Metroid, though a bit heavier.
ARROWS - Move left or right, aim upwards or downwards
Z - Jump
X - Fire, Charge
CTRL - Crouch
SHIFT - Ready Rockets
You can climb ledges in this one as well, but press Z to jump up or off of them.

Last is "toad", a mario engine I was working on. You play as toad, and it controls similar to Super Mario Bros. 3.
ARROWS - Move left or right, crouch
Z - Jump
X - Run, Grab, Use Power

All of the coding was written by me, with the exception of "pibmml". I think I used a physics example as a basis for it. I really don't remember.
All of the graphics, minus the obvious ones in "toad" were created by myself as well.
Feel free to use any or all of everything in these files. Give me credit if you want.

I have a lot more, mostly NON-platformers, but they are projects that I really don't want to just give away yet, some of which I am actually creating for the iPhone.

Oh, and I doubt there is very much, if ANY commenting in the events, so have fun with that

If anybody wants the files with all sound effects and music included, let me know.

UPDATE: I updated the download file to include the mfa files.

Comment your code man!

How do you survive without it?

I rarely comment my code. Its grouped well enough so that it takes the same amount of time (or less)to understand it that it would to actually read the comments.

The ones that I am more likely to comment have references to multiple groups/variables etc.

Nice pack, just comment the code that needs it.

>comment the code

>only .exe files

What am I missing here?

These are all awesome! Let me review...

Idk: The graphics are very minimal styled, but to be honest, look very nice.

Gameplay is fun although quite difficult! I did however find out you can change your weapon by standing on the healer/checkpoint things and pressing down + jump. Arguably the best weapon is the yellow bomb/explosive thing launcher. The weapon cool down bit annoyed me a little though, and the game tends to lag occasionally.

Light_test: This is neat little experiment. I'd say you did a great job! The lighting fx are very nice indeed.

Pibmml: This is definitely the most unique one of the bunch. The engine is very nice, however I found that I couldn't jump sometimes.

Sam: This is my favorite by far. It reminds me of the good old 90's shooter platformers. The graphics are fantastic as well as the fx, especially the sun behind the trees effect. The gameplay is decidedly a bit tough concerning you take damage from falls-from-height. Plus I'm often too eager to just kill the enemies that I end up being too close and then getting whipped. I think this game has tons of potential, though, and would love to see it made into a full blown game!

Toad: I suppose there isn't a whole lot to say about this other than the engine is solid, however I didn't play it for long... tbh I never really got into the Mario games.

Thanks for submitting these! I'd love to see any of them finished. Especially Sam.

So glad there was code included in these games.
My favorite was Sam. It looked like it would be a real exciting adventure, all the games had great lighting effects too

Thanks for the kind words guys!

I'd post a link to my first iPhone game, but I just can't bring myself to do it.
I wish I could be more active in the community!
