Hi, I'm AsparagusTrevor and I like booze. That introduction was for anyone who doesn't know me.
Now, what are people's (who are old enough) favourite booze. What kind of alcoholic drink do you like to consume, and in what situation?
Well for me it is Guinness first, mostly in a pub environment when I can sit down, smoke a Hamlet cigar and chat with random people. When I'm in a nightclub I like to stick to bottled beer, usually consisting of Newcastle Brown or Carling (cos Carling's only £1 a bottle where I go). When it comes to shots, I like the full blown Tequila experience, salt, lemon and tequila, and when it comes to the lonely bottle drinking at home, it's vodka, preferably black vodka, but that's more expensive.
So what's other people's preferences? Anyone else? Muggus?
Well I'm still currently underage, but I've been drinking for two years. My favorite drink is Sleemans Honeybrown, good flavor, nice colour, and just above smooth. When taking shots I take Either Barcardi or Rum. My favorite atmosphere is at a pub with some friends around.
Yeah, I'm here finally Buster. I was actually too busy drinking over the weekend to visit TDC unfortunately. Stout one night to a watermelon spiked with bacardi the next. Not to mention the fact I started brewing a beer on Saturday. So it was an eventful weekend.
Anyway, as for 'favourites' go I have a number of choices.
The best drink i've ever had, which was kinda like a religious experience for me, was a Rochefort Trappist 10. A strong Belgian ale...11.3% alcohol...oh baby. Absolutely amazing. But way to expensive to drink often.
My choice drinks at the pub are Aussie beers in the form of Tooheys Old (a dark ale) and Coopers Sparkling Ale. The latter being probably one of the best Aussie beers out there.
Otherwise it's either JD & Cokes or Southern Comfort & coke/dry.
I generally don't vary my drinks.
At the moment I just finished my 4th Boags Draught for the evening. Not bad.
Oh and you mention Newcastle Brown Trev. I must say i'm a big fan. I've had it off tap at an Irish pub in Sydney and it's gotta be one of the best pints i've ever had. The bottle version doesn't seem to impress me as much though.

Good show. Those of us who understand the benefits of turps can continue to talk about it, those who don't needn't wear their ignorance like a badge.
This weekend was pretty great, this weekend we had a formal valedictory dinner so I got to look awesome in black and silver with blue hair. Afterwards there was a 'barn dance,' which means standing in the courtyard getting tanked to country music. I didn't participate in that bit, but a few hours later we got together in the common room with a couple of goon casks and played Mao (best card game ever) all night and all morning, then the following day there was a recovery, which means lying around in the courtyard and getting tanked. Myself and a friend dragged a couch out and made an umbrella out of blankets and voleyball poles, and I sat there all day drinking and spraying people with a hose. Then that night someone stole a keg of Old, so we stayed up till the wee hours in the back oval with it.
Don't drink a huge amount. Honestly I can't stand beer it tastes like grandma...
Southern Comfort and Coke, Black Russians (Half Vodka, Half Kahluha, with ice... all goodness) Bourbon is always good...
I'm no Muggus I'm afraid... so sad...
Show me the power child,
I'd like to say,
That I'm down on my knees today,
Gives me the butterflies,
Gives me away,
'Til I'm up on my feet again,
I'm feeling outshined.
Hey Muggus, I had that Rochefort stuff, there's a pub in the town centre where I live that has about 200 ales, they've got Rochefort 8,10 and 12 I think they are. One of the worst I from there had was Semiclaus, apparently in the Guinness Book of Records for being the strongest ale, at 13%. There were a group of about 7 of us, it was the last pub we were going to before a nightclub, and only me and someone else liked them, so we shared everyone else's between us, then about half an hour later I suddenly couldn't remember anything else.
The most popular beer at St Andrews is Erdingers, I think. However, despite being past the age limit (which might as well be about 14 where I come from) I don't drink alcohol, just by personal choice. On top of that, most carbonated drinks or anything containing caffeine make me physically sick. It rather limits my options, really.
