Could someone send me an example of a working high score object? I can't seem to get mine working. Please send it as a *.cca file.

Just put in a high score object in a frame. The rest will go automatically. (saving, enter name and stuff)

you'd think so wouldn't you? I've done it, and it just sits there doing nothing. I've tried the actions out, and it still does nothing.

hmmm...
it did everything it was supposed to automatically in TGF, but in MMF it doesn't seem to work try this if it works:

you need:
-1 edit object (name entry)
-1 button (submit)
-1 hi-score object

E:
-upon pressing button
A:
-hi-score: insert a hiscore: (score value=score Player1)(player name=edit object text)
-destroy edit object
-destroy button

***new line***

E:
-score is less than: hiscore value 10 (or whatever is the last place)
A:
-destroy edit object
-destroy button


that should do it

Oh man! Oh well, I guess the long way can't hurt. Mind you, I've put more effort into everything else. Though isn't MMF supposed to be quicker?

two lines isn't that long, and with this tecnique you can make your own custom name entry box with snazzy fonts and stuff. MMF's event editor is faster than TGF's i think. But everything else with MMF's interface is way slower than in TGF . I've never really used the hi-score object in MMF. Never needed it. I assumed it was just like TGF's hi-score object, but appearently it had a small bug in it. Oh well...

I dont even know how to use the Hi Score object, i much prefer doing a custom one using an INI, that way you have more control over it.

Then you've wasted hours of programming for a crappy hackable INI hi-score table when you could have used a hi-score object for exact the same results.

And I'd always do that sort of thing manually: I really don't like it when something in a game screams "I WAS MADE IN MMF."
