Its time for a brand new compo. Lets give it up for the "Avatar Compo" I have been noticing that some people have been pretty good and very original in creating there avatars for the site. Now its time to see who has the most original avatar on the site. The compo starts today and will end this sunday. The rules? There is only 1.. Your avatar must involve clicking in one way or another.. from a click character that acts cool or weird to a click logo/site or a picture of a click game.
The avatar can be animated or static does not mather if its connected to clicking in one form or another your good to go, the most original and coolest avatar will win "2 DC Stars added to your profile" Also to enter the compo you must post a reply at this topic below. Good luck folks, lets have some fun with this!

It's awesome because it changes color every time the page loads, it's click-related because there's a MMF-diamond there, and it's offensive because it makes fun of a guy whose name begins with the letter N. Nice combo, eh?

I guess I'm in; I'll stick with this one.
He was going to be the first boss in the game I'm working on, but then I figured it wouldn't be fun to fight a running foe without any good abilities to dodge him with. So I figured I'd use him as the second boss, except then I came up with a more appropriate boss there...
So now he's currently slated as the third boss.
And it's a canter (a type of quadrupedal run) in four frames... that has to be worth something, right?
I know quicktime isn't a valid avatar format, but for the compo, could I just send a quicktime movei to... oh nevermind, I'll just spend an hour converting it to 158 seperate BMP's, then 158 seperate GIF's.
So far Johan Hargne's avatar is the best entry in my opinion. Nice design, Johan! Could you tell me where did you get all the characers? I recognize that spirit lil dude from the Spirit Engine, the girl from Eternal Daughter and that ninja dude from DC Ninja by Rikus (wasn't that a ripped sprite, by the way?). But who is that little fellow in the bottom left corner and the blonde guy next to him?
Oh, by the way Phart? Your avatar is 460.94 KB of size. It takes forever to download. And it doesn't even look good. Get serious man. Next thing, you'll want us to download your avatar with bit-torrent or something. Shish!
I hope this isn't gonna be judged like that desktop compo from like a year ago or so, it was frustrating to see how talentless people with standard (not homemade) wallpapers won that. Extra points for creativity please.

Just in case someone didn't notice - my Drunkard Ogre (whose name is Pete, actually) is sucking on a bottle of "Game Factory Special Stout" - so my avatar IS klik-related. Also - it was drawn in TGF and than exported to gif with Jasc Animation Shop 3.
I think we should have a limit on the compo avatar filesizes. 50kb should be a reasonable maximum. Keeping a low filesize is an important thing when desining an avatar - I can't see why Klik compo avatars should be an exception.
And here's a word for you: optimization. Phrat, I was able to cut your avatar's filesize to 88,3kb without any serious loss of quality. Just by resizing it to 60x56px (that's the size DC will display it anyway - so why keep a larger image?) I got rid of nearly 100kb. Reducing the colour count of the palette and throwing away every second frame worked fine also. In effect, you get a (almost) dial-up friendly avatar that looks almost as good as your originall one.
I would say all submissions should be new and original, pharts unbelievable awesome rotating 3d one is pretty old, and if HB kid wins Nintendo should get those 2 stars.

Phart, I like the new version better. Mainly because it doesn't include those corny explosions And it spins in sort of more interesting way. But! But the label - Keatontech - is totally unreadable. It's just to small... It looks fine on the larger version - but hell, that's not the point. It's an avatar for Shrist's cake, it should be designed small - not made large and than scaled. Did you thought about making a 60x56 render?
heart break kid: No, it only shows when it's in your cashe, clear it to find out why most people don't see it unless they view the direct link first. Also your avatar can not win because you did not make it.
<I?@Mruqe: Yeah, I probablt shoulda designed it small, i might re-do it again today. My 3D software can't change the aspect ratio, and the normal version is 320*240, that's not the same aspect ratio as 60*56.

How's my new avatar?
I went through 3 versions of the same thing.
In this one the sides of the logo were cut on when its at 90 degrees and at 180 degrees.
I tried to fix the problem by animating the size so that it always fit. I think you'll agree that it stinks.
I finally came out with this one, where the whole logo is always scaled down. I'm pretty sure that this one is the best, but if you dissagree, of if you have ideas, please tell me.

What? How are 3D renders like having massive pictures in a signature? How can you even put pictures in a signature? My brain hurts.
If you don't like them 'cause they take long to load, them mine's not a problem, it's only 68kb. I think you don't like it because it's cooler than any of the 2D ones. *Smirk*
Anyway, i'll admit that I'm not the only one with a cool avatar. There are a few other people who have a chance at beating be.
3D renders are not very impressive in avatars - not anymore, anyway Nonetheless your new avatar, Phart, is a huge improvement since the first version. And it does load pretty quick (I have a pretty good connection though). Yet I still think that Johan Hargne's avatar should win this compo. It's closest to the theme of the competition. And it's well designed - even if it does not include any original graphics.

Because it's "ripped" and I learned the hard way. I love all the Mario game's even though it wasn't the first game I played. The first game I played was Crash bandicoot 2 for the PSX.
I really miss though's day's. Anyway people reflect there mind off of them self's and make fan games instead of using your brain wich no one like's. But I think you may have a good chance of winning! And everyone, just do your best, so good luck to everyone and me.
