Is it much better than MMF 1.5 or is it not worth the $100? Would you pay $400 for it, a closer estimate considering the salary differences here? What are the new features that you can't live without?

Worth the money
(Or the beta testing for me )
One feature that is missed from 1.5 is the built-in calculator in the x/y/width/height box is kinda annoying, but for that it's a wonderful program

I've got MMF2 Developer. If I want to make something with a clickteam product, I will use MMF2. In my opinion it is better, but not by much, to MMF1.5. It will become better in the future as more extensions, patches and movement extensions are added. (Or so I hope )
I love pixelling in MMF 1.5 but then again its rather suicidal with its crashing bugs... Im adapted to using it now, so trying to use anything other is hard for me
MMF2 is much better in my opinion - the interface is better and there are some changes which are good as well. Although at the moment there isn't really anything that would make your game a better game - you could easily make as good a game in MMF 1.5 as you could in MMF 2 (although that should change as soon as extension developers start making some interesting extensions for MMF2)
I did all my art eternally with MMF and imported. Sadly I allways Used MSPaint to do pixel art, even though I got PSCS.
I plan on getting MMF2 soon I made a post like this too a little bit ago. Im probly going to get the Non-Developer version though after talking it over with some people.
I love MMF2. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!... Just the fact I can organize the frame objects into folders, and organize things in layers, being able to hide/show them...good lord what an improvement. The Animation Editor is eh... I never had problems with the ANimation editor in 1.5 like lots of people here..which is weird..It rarely crashed on me. MMF1.5 for me crashed more on the Events Editor than anything else.
But MMF2 will become much better as mentioned once extensions start being released and future patches. MMF2 still makes me nervous since it's fairly new and not all bugs being patched up...
By a route obscure and lonely,
Haunted by ill angels only,
Where an Eidolon, named night,
On a black throne reigns upright,
I have reached these lands but newly
From an ultimate dim Thule
From a wild clime that lieth, sublime,
Out of space
Out of time.
Its better but I'm constantly finding new bugs. As in:
1. The vertical scrollbar in the storyboard editor doesn't work. At all.
2. Sometimes, when I copy and paste an image from one animation frame to another, it pastes it again when I try and drag the recently pasted image to its required position.
3. Constant problems with layers, I don't know where to begin.
Yeh I'm experiencing problems with layers too.
And Chris about the images pasting when you relocate them - make sure you arn't holding CTRL when you are relocating images as they will duplicate and paste another. I only seem to get that when I press CTRL so might be the case for you
I'm also experiencing a lot of bugs with it - nothing extremely important, just small annoying things. A lot of them have been fixed for the next build (which hasn't been released yet).
MMF2 actually killed a game I just started on by first making every object a "bad object" so I lost all the the code and then it made the frame a "bad frame" so I lost all the gfx. But at least I was able to work on a game in it for more than 4 hours which makes it about 200% better than MMF1.5.
I've created folders to store my objects in. However, I cannot transfer them back to the "default" place. I can, though, CLONE them by opening up a frame and seeing its list of contents in the Workspace Toolbar, by dragging them from the folder to the toolbar (does that make sense?). The only way I can move an object is to delete it and create a new one.

Only layer problem I found so far is that some objects won't hide, like the Windows native ones (edit object, list object etc). Guess they could look into that a bit more.
That's the problem with Clickteam, they don't really make bad software, they just release things with a lot of bugs, and if, and only if it sells WITH the bugs, they fix the bugs.
Take jamagic for example, it'd be great if they hadnt release it with all the bugs and lack of support, and instead of fixing it, they called it a "problem", and eventualy erased it from the map.
I was hoping the new MMF would get rid of a lot of old bugs, like when you tell one specific object to move 1 pixel down, it'll move down, but when you tell it to stop, all the objects of the same type suddenly stop. And it sometimes happens, on some comps, so it's hard to fix .
Sometimes I wonder if they put it in intentionally to sell more copies. Like when people buy TGF to save instead of KNP, and MMF to get more than 250 objects, and MMF 1.5 to get 26 alterable values, and MMF 2 to get the animation editor that they messed up in MMF from TGF.

I heard there's a discount if you've owned a previous Clickteam product. How do you get one of those?

Then learn a real programming language instead. If there's a bug, then it's cause YOU caused it.
- Ok, you must admit that was the most creative cussing this site have ever seen -
Its true. I HATE TGF and MMF2 sprite editor. I wish clickteam would release a version that would let you choose which one. This is the absolute only downside I have yet to find in MMF2.
