I have TGF but would like to know what enhancements there have been to make it worthwhile upgrading to TGF2
Thanks!

Almost everything. TGF2 is a skinned down MMF2. The only bad thing about TGF2 is that they left out extension support.
Go for MMF2.

No alpha channels either, and other things. I agree with DaVince, go for MMF2. Limiting yourself to standard objects just to save a few bucks seems pretty stupid to me. However, it should be noted that TGF2 already comes with most standard MMF 1.5 objects (no MooClick or MooSock though), which is still a huge upgrade from TGF1.

I thought TGF2 had MooSock, MooGame and MooClick... But I don't think it has the Event List Editor.

Does it have the Moo objects? They're at least not included in the demo version.

#1 reason why you would never use TGF again: 262 active object limit. That was the most awful thing of TGF.

Wasn't he asking enhancements from TGF2 compared to TGF? ¦3
Well, guess you're right. But at least that limitation is gone from other klik products. Edited by the Author.

"In the many years i used TGF i never had a problem with the 262 object limit."
I guess it depends on the kind of game you want to make, and how much you want to limit yourself when it comes to enemies, particles and effects.
Slink: Err, why?

Why the illogical number of 262 objects? 256 would have made sense at least.

I got 256, I think.
Edit: Nope, it's 266 on my TGF 1.04.
Edit 2: Did another test: I get to 266 with only counter objects, but 262 with 1 counter and the rest actives. Edited by the Author.

I find myself getting annoyed with the small changes to things in MMF2. I can just work TGF much faster than MMF2.

It's never been a problem per se, but it's something you always had to be aware of. I've gotten VERY close to that limit though, and I agree, it's nice that it's not there any longer (5000 is MORE than enough).

working within limits is all part of the fun. So long as you want to make games like the retro software houses did.

Bit late in responding! Thanks for the answers. Still would like a list of new features in tgf2 that are not in tgf. The posts do not really list them all.

TGF1 is actually better than TGF2 as it supports extensions
And for sounds in TGF 1 - use DMC2. It's as good as MMF2 built-in thingy and can additionally play MP3& modules.
Use TGF1 or MMF2.

TGF VS TGF 2, I HAVE THE GAMES FACTORY PRO AND I HAVE BEEN USEING TGF OVER 6-7 YEARS, ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO I BOUGHT A NEW PC WINDOWS XP AND EVERY SO OFTEN THERE AFTER GAMES WOULD SPASS OUT......
I BOUGHT TGF 2 JUST TO STOP THIS PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS TO HAVE WORKED, I DON'T REALLY NO HOW TO USE TGF 2 SO WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING IS BUILDING MY GAMES IN TGF AND IMPORTING IT INTO TGF 2 PLAY
THATS ALL ITS GOOD FOR FOR ME LOL
