Is that GOTM thing going to go ahead? That'd be really nice, and a cool extra incentive to submit games etc too, to achieve this higher award! It wouldn't take long to implement either... Couple minutes really, 2 hours max :\
Post your other ideas below, or chase the admins for those important things we've always wanted
Okay well I think perhaps the threads-per day limit should be brought down, some people just make two many survey threads nowadays, Tim Im still waiting for the official Bagel VS Croissant thread to be made.
This isn't a survey or VS thread, Adam This is an ideas thread for users to submit their thoughts so that Admins can easily refer to a list of things that people would like to see. So, if you're finished? Lol.
i think it would be pretty cool if there was some way of implementing a gamer points system for the GOTW games, like the 360 has. Obviously this would be almost impossible due to the individual game makers but i think a fun idea non the less.
let's face it, the thumbs system sucks balls. It's unfair and a lot of people are abusing it by voting thumbs down without even downloading the game, also I think the ratings should appear immediately after the first vote has been cast.
In the top of that, it asks the user to vote for the game just after the downloading started which is totally pointless.
I demand top 10 lists!
Top 10 online click games - cuz I can't ever find them except for the flanville game.
Top 10 click RPGs - RPGs rule, but yeah I'm kinda surprised if there have even been submitteed 10 decent click RPGs...
I also want a devlog because people would probably update them more than using the preview section.
hmm that's about it. Well some hot chicks would be nice aswell...
I think we should get rid of Thumbs Down altogether. It only demotivates people. Having people vote thumbs up when they like something seems much better.
I think it's more to do with people voting thumbs down for no reason, or inproper reasons that really makes people feel that it should be removed. It'd be ok, so long as people explain their actions behind it and give C+C, but noone ever does.
When you post a comment for a game, and you didn't vote yet, you can add a rating in stars (Like in the articles) from 1-5 (0 is just stupid.).
Then when people see your comment they could see how high or low did they vote.
Also remove the Delete Comment "feature", it's stupid, like we can't delete forum posts.
And there should be a "Report an unjustified rate" thing, where people do:
"this game sucks thumbs down" or
"this game doesnt work @ my pc lololol" or
"its hosted on sitesaladthingy and i cant dl it lololol" and vote down.
A non-rating-system-related idea I also had is this:
When you view a game, there should be a box in the right side that says "Top similar games" which loads 5 random games from the top 30 games in the same category. It could be nice.
DaVince This fool just HAD to have a custom rating

I agree, but without the "top 30" part. Instead, maybe only the games that are above 55% in "SomeKindOfRating".
EDIT: and not sufficiently rated games, so more obscure games, no matter how old, will still show up. This will lengthen the amount of time a game will stay around and be played.
Nope. I've been mentioning it since practically the first time I was here, but it's always been ignored. I could write a long, long speech on why GOTW is wrong, with plenty of examples, but I did and won't write another one.

True. I've seen a game that got 10 downloads and about 17 thumbs down. I think I deleted it since the user was banned anyway. But it still shows how unfair it is.
I demand top 10 lists!
And where will the top 10 lists come from? Everyone will be begging for a place on the list, there's no way to determine who deserves to be there. Are we going to follow the thumbs up votes? Reviews?
Of course, you could make your own unofficial top 10 list. I demanded a FAQ that listed all the klik questions newbies always ask and nobody listened. After a while, I just made my own Click FAQ and Pete put it on KA soon after. And while I put my full name in it just for fun, I heard that some of the people googling me found it .

Nope, that's replacing the problem with another problem. (note the italics *nudges Clubsoft*)
The articles system has its flaws. Just like the downloads where someone would vote you down because the title is ugly, the 1-5 rating system is the same because it lets you deliver a harder blow that a simple thumbs down. That damn article rating system is one I've also wanted to get rid of (especially the 0, because people would vote a 0 on my articles just because they didn't understand the title). But it's the only system that works for the articles, so it's ok.
I think the downloads should go back to following review averages. That system worked quite well, it was only a bit more tiring to maintain.
And there should be a "Report an unjustified rate" thing
Ugh.. no. We already have that happening every week. It might be unfair for them to vote like that, but it's not fair not to let them vote either.
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
Would people hate me if i said the site was fine as is? I mean, I don't like the rating system, so i pretend it doesn't exist. I see a thumbs down and i think, "oh, its just another idiot" If I see a criticism , I listen (sometimes).

The problem with that being that nobody reviews games, so the system becomes pointless.
The idea of adding a stars system tied into comments is for people to add a "mini" review of sorts to it, anything deemed unfair or purely negative (in the none constructive critisism sort of way) will be removed.
I was also thinking of adding a favouriting system, similar to how youtube works.
Couldn't we just keep the thumbs, but make your rating visible? Looking at thumbs tells me if people found the game enjoyable or not, but 3 stars can either mean "average coding, not so great" or "pretty good game, I found it fun". The thumb language is universal.
Well no, because the game gets a rating based on the whole game in its' entirety with stars, just as thumbs up does - it's not based off one aspect. If something has 4 stars because the music was bad - the game as a whole wasn't as good because of the music letting it down, so as a whole it was awarded 4 stars...
Just seen the new stars rating system in action and it's far superior
... Though I did see a post say I'll download it later on and a 3 star rating and I was like "omg Ben! Rating BEFORE playing?!" But then of course I realised after reading through a few more psots that the rating is attached to all comments made before the rating was given. Phew. Sorry Ben. <3 again
