Just wanted to say 'hello'...! It's been a long time but it's so nice to see this site still around and the community alive and well... don't worry, I'm not back to hype a re-release of a Future Fantasy game(looking back in retrospect it seems that's all I ever did, so sorry about that, haha), no pdf magazine either and no radio shows, (the one on here, KlikCast, by the way, is tremendous!) but I wanted to drop by and give my regards to everyone.
Looking back it was a great time and I'll always think back kindly with everything (and even everyone). Then again, it's been so long I'm sure half of you people don't have a clue who I am
Well, I'm ancient. Like, Rikus-ancient... around the days before this site existed. But yeah, looking back, I was a pretty self-indulgent heavy marketing machine about the FF games, which I can say were never technical masterpieces or anything - although anytime anyone finishes a game they should be proud. But the heavy handed hype did create some critics, some enemies in my day, but it was all in fun. Several years removed now, I can see why some people might have been turned off - but anyway, I'll always think fondly of this place and a few of the others. I had my most fun doing the radio show for sure... we would broadcast 'live' (well, sorta) from parties that my fraternity (yes, I was one of 'those guys' haha) would throw and we would bring in drunk sorority girls and quiz them about Klik & Play.
Anyway, did Klik finally go fully 3D yet? I think I saw some klik games on a compilation games CD a few years back... how's the family, Rikus?
I'm certain I've seen you before.. but where? Lol, I bet if I still had my old logs you're somewhere in there. Klik will never go 3D. At least not until it's reached the technical capabilities of 2D. And I think Clickteam are pretty discouraged by Jamagic.
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
The name rings a bell. You did the final fantasy style game thingy back in the days of the clickteam forums, future fantasy or whatever? That was such ages ago.
Kevin Smets!
Your Future Fantasy game, the Third, was one of the first games I tried from the Click Community, and i loved it! You just don't forget things like that!
Unfortunetly I couldn't find any of the other games. I downloaded that remake you made of the First, and the Third was merely a demo. I never so much as heard a mutter from the Second. What's the deal with that?
What's going on here? Honestly, horrifyingly litlle. It's starting to appear more and more Bye- topics and less Hello- ones. I know people have said the click community is dying for a long time, but this is the first time you can actually watch it bleed
I think the problem is that clicking simply doesn't appeal to the younger generation anymore. In other words, Click and Play has become significantly less Click, and no Play at all. The people clicking appeals to today is so old they either become tired quickly, or immedietly move on to a superior language. Add that to the ever so present anti- n00b policy, and voila: well, just look around.
But enough of my senseless pladder. You made some really great, memoriable games on Click and Play. Surely you should be proud of your accomplishments!
