Lol, true. But If I updated everyday, I would probably (and very quickly) run out of things to update ABOUT. Though I wouldn't really mind being an admin, I'm cool with it either way. Admin, OR member.

You can have it if you want. I am Jon Lambert!

Sub-admins might be cool, but then what will all the regular admins do? Maybe just delegate their responsibilities or something?

Sub-Admins would be the nerdy hall monitors of TDC. So in essence, yes.. giving the normal admins absolutely no reason to work anymore.

Isn't that what all the admins do? I mean they really don't do anything else, and all complain about the extra tasks. I think Rikus had a very valid point.

People shouldn't nominate people for admins. Because they'll pick their friends, not people who would be actually good for the job.

Anyone who ever made a thread saying "THIS NEED TO CHANGE" probably shouldn't be an admin. Sorry guy

Not everyone would. If you list why you think they would be good, it doesn't matter whether they are a friend or not. And you have to keep in mind that some people choose friends that have the same qualities as admins.

Wouldn't "this needs to change" be a good quality to have in an admin? If the change improves the site then the admin is doing their job. If the change isn't so well thought out, the other admins will intervene.

You have a point about the people nominating their friends, however since the topic is strictly about personal preferences it isn't really incorrect to do so here. Though it is good to see people giving honest reasons behind their opinions - it shows they are taking this thread seriously.

I'm still under the belief that the current admin picking system is ineffective and should be revised. I mean, yeah sure people can write some fancy games, are popular among the members and post a bunch, but when put in the admin position, kinda suck. Sometimes the admin rocks in one area of the job, say updating the front page, but when it comes to the forums, questionable decisions get made.

I'm all for sub-admins, giving those good at their area of expertise (for instance, enthusiastic forum posters and experienced game developers over the news for the front page, impartial dudes who don't get involved in drama over the forums, etc.) a chance to improve the site to the standards of excellence.

I imagine actually having shorter trials for admins and cycling through members would quickly find those who shine the most. Delegation of duties would let the ultra-admins a chance to relax, knowing that those below them are apt for the job, giving them a chance to lead TDC instead of managing it.

Something to think about. Anyone agree?

By the way, I wasn't nominating all those people. O_o I was listing qualities. I would have to narrow it down quite a bit.

Besides, I forgot to mention a few people! Although a lot of them are the people who make such good games and stuffs that being an Admin would take away time from that.
