okay,my game character is completly over-head 2d,and the walls I was using look very overhead with a bit of a 3d look.
now,a side source believes that the walls should be very 3d looking and I simply don't believe it looks right compared to the player's look,(he looks completly over-head 2d)
so,would you say this picture looks confusing perspective-wise?,if so,then I'm right!

You need to have the same perspective on the character and the walls, otherwise it looks cheap and home made.

Yeah, the player has a total top-view, the walls don't. You are totally right, but it doesn't look that bad

For a homemade game, it looks typical and could probably be excused. However, you aren't lazy and want the best for your projects.

I actually didn't notice that till I read what you wrote, but I might have noticed it if I actually played it.

But it would be so much better if you made the character 3D-ish rather than the walls 2D.

It would work with 360 degree aiming, but like you said a lot to draw.

Not necessarily. Oko, take a peek at this article, it may inspire you:

I agree with Clayton that a 3d-esque figure with those walls would be more attractive than flattening the lot. Edited by Rob Rule
It'll all blow over.

ok with the walls,i was going to have a teeny amount of 3d look(just so you could tell they were actually there and not carpets).
and the main character has 20-or-so animations so i don't think that iso-metric (or whatever it's called)will exactly work out for me.

No... not unless it were true isometric, which it obviously isn't.
