It occurs to me that clickteam products have been around for quite a while now
It also seems that, despite their power, MMF et al are very rarely used for high-quality indie games
What do you think the greatest game ever created with these tools is?
One that makes you feel, hand on heart, proud of the click community?

...I was going to post a link to the Klick Museum, but it appears that the link is busted.
Maybe the admins can sort out the problems? Clubsoft?

Depends what you mean by great.
"Plasma Warrior" is probably my favourite, but it's really very basic in most respects. There are plenty of other games that are technically far more impressive, but they're just not fun to play.

Well, gameplay/game dynamics is much more important than bells and whistles.
That's why we still have chess.

I can't get Treasure Adventure Game to work!
I'm running windows in a VM so I assume it's something to do with that.
Lyle in Cube Sector - yes, that's pretty cool
I just remember, back in the day, it was all about counting the days until Eternal Daughter came out.
Now, I don't really get Eternal Daughter. Spelunky, also by Derek Yu, is probably my favourite computer game of all time but by that time he'd moved off the MMF...
Within a Deep Forest is pretty amazing, now I think of it...

Knytt Stories. I love that game.
I like the original Duel Toys better for some reason, even though it can be buggy.
Noitu Love 2 is amazing, even though you have to pay for it.
And Tormshire if it would ever be released....
Edit: Forgot about AGWAK 2.

Freedom Planet and A.N.N.E are looking really nice, too.

I just downloaded Factor X, which was a lot of hype when it was released, and surprised to find it's actually a pretty good game
The graphics suck, and the music's all cheesy dance, but at its core it's a very well-designed and difficult remake of destruction carnival

Woohoo! Jonny RPG.
I liked this game for its humour, art and charm. It was so strong in those aspects that it was hard to focus on any faults it had.

Ive played thousands of click games so it's hard to even remember most of them let alone choose my favourite/the best. (I remembered more as I wrote this list lol)
The first release of Spud's quest stands out in my mind, and as a fan of the Dizzy games on the 8 bit computers from 1986 to 1990something it's a game i instantly fell in love with even though it's a bit long for my liking.
Eternal daughter can't be ignored and it was the benchmark for years in click. It's got some faults of course (replaying an area over and over because you've died on the boss isn't fun) but it's a class game and much more than you're ever likely to see nowadays from indie devs. Is it just me or are indie developers getting lazier with pixel art?
Super awesome adventure extreme. short but sweet platform puzzler based on a very simple control mechanic. tap jump to move one block, hold jump to move two blocks. Great music and presentation and alternative routes.
The spirit engine I do remember it being called a walking simulator and it would crash loads on my old PCs. It's still an entertaining and unique RPG with fantastic art and a really good soundtrack too! Something I can only dream of.
The Fishhead series. Hayo Van reek's platformy masterpiece. Well, 2 and 3 mainly. It used the default platform engine and the key collecting formula got stale quickly but it's an early platformer series that I actually played a lot of. Fishhead world tour was looking great but when it was cancelled he moved onto other equally good things. Bernard and Hank anyone?
Mini falafel adventure I got berated for not giving this 5 out of 5 in the comments section i remember. But i can tell you it's a really nice little game. Obviously trying to look and sound like a Gameboy game. Bite sized gamey goodness.
Furry Well done platform game. Nice music (From Fury of the furries on the Amiga btw!) gameplay to match and short enough to not get stale.
Red feud. Would we call this Metroidvania nowadays? Well anyways it's a scruffy but damn charming little platform game starting a strange man with a red beard trying to rescue his son from a clown? Kinda has a lighthearted Nintendo vibe to it i think. But at the same time you know it's a click game
Just out of curiosity what do people think of my games? I think all of my old stuff is godawful because, well, hindsight and all that. But I played a little bit of Lil' pirate recently and i think it stands up pretty well actually. What do you guys think?

Excellent summary of a multi-generation assortment of click games, AndyUK.

I enjoyed your Summer Fun entry from last year's FunTition, and I think it was well put together. In fact, I recall complimenting your engine, the point being that you seem to come up with an improved version of your platforming engine every year or so and come up with a solid game to serve as an example of it in action. I think you're becoming a better level designer as well: an aspect of your games that has shown a similar path of improvement.
...So keep at it!
