Hi everyone. I posted a message like this in Coding, but it really belongs here! Anyway, I'm working on Spyro The Pig: PIG OF REVENGE, and I don't want to used ripped music. The problem is this: I SUCK AT COMPOSING MUSIC! Anyone who helps will have their names in the credits and their company logo on the front. Alright, here's what I need:
Theme Song) Can it be cool and Invader Zimmy?
World 1)The Farm
World 2)The Forest of Shadows
World 3) The Desart of All That Dryness
World 4) The Mountains of Chaos
World 5) The Factory (all ready covered by Julian )
Bonus Theme

Boss Theme
Final Boss Theme

Game Over Theme
JoNickArt- Nikodemus has already given me some cool jingles. Anyway, I understand that this is a lot. Sorry about that. If anyone decides to help, know this: This isn't a happy game. Its sort of dark (in a good way). DC mail me the songs you compose, or post it here along with your company name. Thankyou everyone,
Lazarus

in fact, i also wanted that song to be invader zimmy!!
what happens is that i don't know which instrument is the one used in iz's music. its like a hammer-metal thingy
i made one. it is supposedly for the training level.
it ist't as long as the other songs, and if it isn't as good is because i'm all sleepy and tired. mm better go to bed now

I would have to agree with JonWoG...The music on this thread is not the greatest....Most seem to short....Why do I keep useing....<----those things....Who really cares....I better go back to sckool now....I can't even spell sckool....Im in grade 12.....haha...this really bites!
"I have dreamed a dream... But now that dream is gone from me."
I used a program ages ago to make some midis and never used them so ill post some if i can find them.
they are all pretty upbeat ones and really small, around 10k uncompressed.
You see, Evil Monkey, that was the first engine test. The second one was better, and now Andyuk has made me a cool engine for spyro. Enjoy its weird name in all its evil. And just because I didn't spell "desert" right, doesn't mean I can't make a good game. So make with the slience, Monkey Boy! Sorry, but that's just what I think. No offense, or whatever.
Grazzum-That is a cool music file! I'll use it. What's your company's name?

Whoops. I made a tune for the Forest of Shadows but it seems like I've been beaten to it. Oh well, I'll show it off anyway since I don't want it to go to waste, maybe someone else will put that tune to good use.
MIDIs suck!! MIDIs have different sounds for different MIDI synths. Isn't that pathetic?! And nearly every single synth sounds crap. MODs let you use any sound you want on your computer in your tune! As long as you have one sample of a C (Or other) note on your computer, you can have it play on any note you want. You can apply effects that change the volume, panning, threshold, and more about each note you play. MIDIs can only have 16 channels, but MODs can have up to 64 channels.
MODs are becoming increasingly popular in click games. Examples are: Titan Omega Revelations, Zone Runner, all of the games that I have in production, and much, much more!

Pah, basically all you said was that synths suck in different ways for your explaination of Midi suckage, and mod's usually sound crap with certain sample styles. And you only listed two games that use mod's face it, even greats like ED and red feud use midis. Even MSD. I for one use composed midis+mp3's (High compression.)
"Everytime you use Kazaa, a metallica band member dies a little."

i love Mod every game ive made since PW2 has used MODs. probably cuz im an old amiga dog
much larger files than midi, more dynamic (important), more (nay! unlimited) sample diversity. and the knowing fact that you may have mods dating back to '88
midi is ok but it just dosnt excite me. its like an old man, it sits there pleasantly not causing a fuss until it farts.
Midi2 is just going to be like MOD (music with samples), hell i got an intel motherboard that has a built-in Midi2 capable soundcard... at least i think its called Midi2.
It's a matter of taste. I like mods because what i make sounds exactly the same on other computers, it's easier, and there are better samples, and you're not limited to the 128 instruments a midi table has....so if i wanted to make a tune from one sound of me sneezing, i could....one advantage with midis are the size though, because the instrument sounds are stored on each persons computer, so midis only need to tell the computer what and when to play something...
I'm gonna have to make midis for my KnP game entry (for the comp.)
Well, i'm not sure if you have all the music done yet... but if your still looking for people to do some music i could help i have just started using fruity loops, and my first piece is done! And it sounds pretty good go to www.scorpione.co.uk and go to music and then the one done by me (Jambo)
