WOW my first game since november 2003! Has it been that long?
Actually i started this about a fortnight ago.

This is a dizzy fangame. Remember Dizzy? He was on Loads of formats at one time or another from the mid 80's to early 90's on the Spectrum, commadore, Amstrad, Amiga, Atari computers as well as Nes, Megadrive/Genesis and even the Pc. This is based on the 8bit Amstrad versions.

As Dizzy you had to move from screen to screen to solve puzzles by collecting various items around the game (three at a time).

This is not a remake, it is an orignal game using the Amstrad cpc versions graphics (so yes they're ripped)
This is my second dizzy game so i think ive perfected the engine now and it plays ALMOST exactly the same as the originals.

This is a lot smaller than the original dizzy games (under 20 screens) because i spent so long getting the engine working properly i made sure it was small so i didnt loose interest.
Oh and it is not the game i previewed a while ago, its more of a mini game.
I hope you enjoy!!!

New version 1.1

changes;

.Deleted a spider that didnt kill you properly
.made sure all spiders stayed active so they will now hopefully not stray off track
.dizzy can move after getting the crowbar

No screenshots because my hosting has gone offline.

It seems to stick after I'm given the crowbar - anyone else?

Posted by AndyUK 25th October, 2004

its now fixed. i forgot to re activate some groups after that conversation.

hey I really liked this one, the gfx are reeely cute and authentic I think, it brings you straight back to the 80s :)! I espacially liked the music!Only sounds are missing :(!!How to get the f****** key???????

Posted by DukeMS 25th October, 2004

Oh yeah, i forgot:did you made the music on your own?

Posted by The Chris Street 25th October, 2004

A nice game. The music's not original. Although... AGAIN... you've made your game windowed!

Yay! Downloading...

Posted by Radix 25th October, 2004

Windowed is GOOD.

Posted by AndyUK 25th October, 2004

Sorry circy but i thought this would look too blocky if it was fullscreen. i don't make music i found it on some website and thought it sounded blippy enough.

Posted by Retired Kliker Lazarus 25th October, 2004

This is a nice little challenge. I might review it later...

Posted by Coop 25th October, 2004

i found a glitch where you drop into the hole on the way back from the first level and walk into the water your screen gets stuck at the bottom of the pool of water and when your guy reapears you can't see him, he's off the screen.

Posted by AndyUK 25th October, 2004

i dont get where you mean coop. back from the first level? do you mean in the cave at the bottom of the pit. Ive never gone down far enough to go down a screen

Posted by DaVince 26th October, 2004

Nice game! What about resizing the window to 2x with the window resize extension?

Posted by Noyb 26th October, 2004

I think Coop means when you go to the right past the well and into the water.

Posted by AndyUK 26th October, 2004

reviews anyone? please?

Posted by cielx 26th October, 2004

im stuck once ive dropped down to the cave i cant find a way back up!! how did u make it sos that the player still has the save movement from the previous frame and appears at the correct position in the window??

Posted by Radix 26th October, 2004

It looks to me as though the whole level is in one frame. Even if it wasn't, it's not hard to do.

Posted by AndyUK 26th October, 2004

its all in the same frame but moves one screen worth everytime you hit one of the red borders. There is a pretty easy way to escape the cave, walk into the sparkle at the very bottom-right.

That's really cool!

Posted by AndyUK 27th October, 2004

Thanks for the review!! i will make a second verison for the fullscreeners out there and make version 1.1 non windowed. also maybe i can write a walkthrough for anyone who is stuck but not yet, its still too early.

Posted by Simon Elo 28th October, 2004

Awww, I remember Dizzy on Megadrive. Good ol' egg...

Posted by AndyUK 28th October, 2004

7/10 isnt so bad. although i don't like to make the overall the average of the rest because a game can be more than the sum of its parts.

Posted by hey hey shoe 29th October, 2004

fullscreen is lame! i give this game 9/10 because its addictive... the last point is missing because you have to start all over when you get hit 3 times :)

Posted by elektro_D.I. 31st October, 2004

i like retro'

Posted by AndyUK 1st January, 2005

Posted by The Chris Street 24th February, 2005

Posted by AndyUK 1st April, 2005
