i remember trying out the mmf demo, it took me ages to figure out how to make a game fullscreen.

still, i tried jamagic too, I don't know much about 3d anyway but i got nothing done in about an hour of clicking stuff. So thats worse.

I use to use TGF then when I downloaded MMF trial I hated it - couldn't use it at all. So I went back to TGF - but then you realise how much more powerful MMF is. TGF has loads of limits, and although MMF looks harder to use - its virtually the same as TGF just in a different layout.

So I'm back with MMF now - and the best thing is the extensions and bonus packs, because they just make it "more powerful" whereas hardly anyone makes stuff like this for TGF anymore. MMF will probably still be updated for a while, until MMF2 is released and we'll all have to get used to MMF2's interface.

MMF isn't hard to use when you've used it for a few hours or days.
But just stick with whether you can be bothered learning a new program. If you want more power and want to make decent games with loads of variability, then choose MMF. If you want an easier way of making games, but at the cost of having a few limits then choose TGF.

Jonny: I was like that too in the beginning, but after you've learned the true power of MMF, it seems just stupid to use TGF. Yes, I use TGF too sometimes, but mostly just for making graphics and some basic coding, then I continue in MMF. It's really just MMF's picture and animation editors that suck. They're buggy as hell. The picture editor is kind of disappointing as it has many features that programs like PSP have, but it's too buggy to use. MMF needs more shortcut keys also, it saves a lot of time

Phart (KeatonTech): What? Is your IQ like 2 or something? The 'new' button in MMF is the same as in any windows program, and the 'new' option is always under 'file' in the menu

You know you can make your own shortcut keys in MMF, right Axel? Just right click and go into Customization.

I'm quite surpirsed that so many people use tgf for making most of their game then finish it off in mmf. Thats the way I do it also.

" I STILL use TGF over MMF. MMF to this day I swear has the crappiest user interface ever. I mean it's just riddiculous."

amen. I hate the drag and drop level editor shit, and the weird ass event editor changes. Theyre un-needed.

Axel [OHW]: I know that the "new" option is always in the file menu, it's just that way back when I used TGF, there was always a new file open when I started it. The only reason I ever opened a new window was because I thought it would be funny to have 2 blank windows (I was like 9 at the time). My IQ is actually 3, so take that, you were ... uhh ... pretty colors.

Agree with last post - the thing is when you use MMF for a while and get use to its awkward interface and then go back to TGF you realise how basic TGF is - like going back to Klick and Play etc....

to start press any key ...... where's the ANY KEY??

MMF interface isn't that bad when you get used to it. The only thing I hate is that it has a few bugs, and that the picture editor sucks. Everything else is fine for me.

I use TGF for various reasons:
1. Tgf is much easier to use than Mmf .I tried mmf trial, and I thought that I don't want to know how to use it, yet. Maybe few years later.
2. I don't need Mmf features, only thing that bothers is object limit.
3. Mmf is too expensive for me!

But, I think I must learn how to use MMF, because I win MMF2 from the compo
No shit.
