I dont get it, I personally dont think click games are getting worse. Just this year we got the excellent Streambolt, which might as well be one of the best Click game ever.

We also got Super Ken Senshi or something, which was very very good, even tho I've never played it with other people on-line. And I'd rather play a shooter with RPG-like elements than another well-made superficial twitch game. (Not dissing SKS, but the whole shooter genre).

For original games, we had "The Line Continues", which even tho is a vib-ribbon style game, is still pretty awesome and original by click standards.

Douglas Circumstance was great, if it was easier and had more level it would make me explode in orgasmic fury. The Spirit Engine is pretty good even tho it's too linear for an RPG.

And dont forget the "Lost Valley", that game, at least to me, was exceptionally awesome. It might be a little repetitive and long but it rocked so hard and was so big and epic it wasn't funny. The entire game had a "I cant believe this was done in Multimedia Fusion by one guy" feeling.

And that's what you guys are missing: The "I cant believe this was done in MMF by one or two guys" feeling Eternal Daughter, Gunner 3 and Entrance Gate (even tho I dont like it much) had.

Me? I dont care since I dont really care about the coding and care about the gameplay, atmosphere and fun factor.

Dotn forget that Mr. Stumps Dentures and Mina of the Pirates are comming soon, plus who knows what. If I had the time, I'd make a Hyper Quadrant sequel.

It is very common to loose interest in something after a while. Lets face it ... Klik'n'Play was released in 1995 or so. Thats 8 years ago.

When we discover something new and thrilling its exciting just beacuse its new. After a while that feeling fades away and should hopefully be replaced by interest. If things get a bit repetitive its common to loose some interest. A pause awakens the interest.

About the quality, I think its almost the same as always. Allthough some things may be a bit more advanced with plugins/online play and stuff, the overall quality is about the same. There are still newbie games (as there should be, that means the community grows), and there are the more "professional" games.

But maybe the "professionalism" has gone some people a bit too much to the head. Graphical standard has risen. And maybe that has removed focuss a bit too much from other things like fun. A game is not automatically good just because it is drawn nice. I think we may need to focuss more on gameplay and the fun factor. And then think new. A game redone 100 times looses quality.

Perhaps I should tighten up and finish a game

Whatever the current state of Click games, we can't give up on them, because we have the potential that no proffessional games creators in the world can do: whatever the hell we want! We can make games about cheese sandwhiches if we want to, which is why we have to use this freedom to do something better. Maybe the standard is high at the moment, but I for one am not dismayed by the challenge. Sure, I can't do the visuals that some of you can, with your fancy pre-rendered graphics, but so what? Spend time on your games, give them decent stories or a character all of their own, and then hopefully we'll all be happy. I've not been disappointed by a single download from TDC, but instead where I've seen weaknesses, I've been compelled to do better myself. Wow, that's a long reply. I need to rest my fingers.

Why the hell am I on the computer at 1 in the morning? No, don't answer.
