Smash Star!
Oh! Oh no. It's that time again. Retro platformer time! Oh gawd. This game is my learn-GameMaker:Studio-project. So, what to expect?
Here's what!
The game is about grabbing/throwing stuff. Some of these things give you abilities, like less gravity or a super jump. Enemies are gotten rid of by throwing them at walls or into each other. The actual goal of each level is saving a bunch of weirdos and getting through each level. There are a few coins in each level which can be spent on additional health or other things. Each level (except the very first town) has secret areas to explore. The difficulty ramps up a bit near the end.
The game can be saved at save points. It saves automatically on the world map. At the very beginning, go right to get to the world map.
What else? It's short and not without problems. There shouldn't be any show-stopper bugs left. Most annoyances happen when you're in a tight area.
Controls
Arrow keys, Space & Alt or A and S. Esc for main menu/exiting
Alt+Enter for fullscreen
What else?
It seems making my kitty series has turned into get-to-know-dev-environments for me. Learning new stuff is fun! Suppose I can recommmend that GameMaker thing if you want to keep it simple and relatively easy. Its scripting is quite nice, but not completely without issues.
