I have a Wii aswell and I'm not to excited about the Mario game. It looks really messy with having to jump from planet to planet, like you don't know where to go and where you are. Hopefully they've solved that in a good way.
Well, seeing as its you on a spaceship for training when suddenly it gets attacked and boarded by space aliens who happen to carry giant energy shields with them, and board the ship via giant pods that connect and blast through the sides, and are then attempting to blow up the defenses so they can launch an attack on the ground below, yes, they had to be at least *inspired* by halo.
Don't forget that some of the space pirates wear giant jet packs while dual wielding guns, and at one point you get blown out in space while wearing a giant suit of powered armor.
Seriously, saying one FPS is ripping off another FPS is pretty much pointless now, because the one that's being "ripped off" undoubtably ripped it off from some other place.
I love the Prime 3 controls. Ninty didn't let me down with them; and I think they've just shown that you CAN make a good controlling FPS on the Wii as long as your team isn't full of jackasses. It's about damned time too. I've been drooling over the FPS posibilities of the Wii since they first announced that controller. (No clue what to make of the Zapper though, they claim it's for FPS games, but I don't see it happening; at least not with that thing.)
Yeah yeah, it's an FPA, we've been through this before. Doesn't matter; it's far from my point. Still has perfect FPS controls. Better than any "true" FPS on the Wii. Still making me Drool. I want me some Timesplitters love now please.
I've heard it has fantastic controls. A friend of on another forum is notorious for hating console FPS games. The guy has fallen in love with Prime 3. Bit crappy that we have to wait another 2 months, but ah well! I hope devs take note of Prime 3 and FPS can thrive on the Wii.
The only problem I've had is the lack of ergonomics on the Remote. While playing Prime3 I grip that thing pretty hard, and because it's perfectly straight, it's starting to make my wrist ache a bit.
Mario Strikers Charged Football did that for me. I'd only play for 10 minutes and my hands would ache, mostly cuz it's so stressful when you're playing someone as good as you. Haha. That game really gets me involved
I'm worried about Halo 3, since 2 was a bit crap I'm not much excited. 4 player co-op rings my bell though. Just hope they get the game more like Halo 1, which is 1/4 reasons why I bought an Xbox.
